Army awards Military Merit Medal to MisOcc gov for peace building efforts
In behalf of Misamis Occidental Governor/ LTC
Oaminal PA (RES), PDRRMO Head, BGen. Joseph Villanueva (RET) received the
Military Merit Medal for Gov. Oaminal meritorious achievement in performances
of duty as an active reservist officer and concurrently serving as the Governor
of Misamis Occidental.
For the awarding body, imbued with great sense of
responsibility and dedication to duty, LTC Oaminal initiated non-combat
activities through the Tenth Infantry (Steady... On) Battalion, First Infantry
(TABAK) Division, Philippine Army, that facilitated the accomplishment of the
AFP's mission in Misamis Occidental.
They also said that his remarkable passion to
uphold peace and development in the province he facilitated the passage of
Resolution No. 513-22, that was overwhelmingly supported by the provincial
council that provides for the financial assistance for the local communist
leaders and members in the province, who opt to surrender and reintegrate into
the society.
Additionally, he is instrumental in providing
social equity to former rebels by devising a comprehensive set of benefits and
services under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program that
showcases his commitment to peace and reconciliation.
Moreover, he has been a trailblazer in
implementing the zero-bill program, which benefits the members of the 10IB and
CAAs during hospitalizations bringing significant impact to the moral of our
combat troops.
His unwavering dedication to peace-building efforts and commitment to the welfare of the soldiers and the community serve as shining example for the others to follow. Through these accomplishments Lieutenant Colonel Oaminal has not only brought distinct credit to himself but also to the Armed Forces of the Philippines. (SMRN/PGMO)
