Army awards Military Merit Medal to MisOcc gov for peace building efforts




Misamis Occidental--The 102nd Infantry “Igsoon” Brigade awarded Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal during its 50th Founding Anniversary held Oct. 18 at the 102nd Infantry (Igsoon) Brigade headquarter.

In behalf of Misamis Occidental Governor/ LTC Oaminal PA (RES), PDRRMO Head, BGen. Joseph Villanueva (RET) received the Military Merit Medal for Gov. Oaminal meritorious achievement in performances of duty as an active reservist officer and concurrently serving as the Governor of Misamis Occidental.

For the awarding body, imbued with great sense of responsibility and dedication to duty, LTC Oaminal initiated non-combat activities through the Tenth Infantry (Steady... On) Battalion, First Infantry (TABAK) Division, Philippine Army, that facilitated the accomplishment of the AFP's mission in Misamis Occidental.

They also said that his remarkable passion to uphold peace and development in the province he facilitated the passage of Resolution No. 513-22, that was overwhelmingly supported by the provincial council that provides for the financial assistance for the local communist leaders and members in the province, who opt to surrender and reintegrate into the society.

Additionally, he is instrumental in providing social equity to former rebels by devising a comprehensive set of benefits and services under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program that showcases his commitment to peace and reconciliation.

Moreover, he has been a trailblazer in implementing the zero-bill program, which benefits the members of the 10IB and CAAs during hospitalizations bringing significant impact to the moral of our combat troops.

His unwavering dedication to peace-building efforts and commitment to the welfare of the soldiers and the community serve as shining example for the others to follow. Through these accomplishments Lieutenant Colonel Oaminal has not only brought distinct credit to himself but also to the Armed Forces of the Philippines. (SMRN/PGMO)

Misamis Occidental-- Amid ongoing efforts to ensure peace and public safety in Misamis Occidental, the Police Provincial Office reported a general decline in crime and highlighted intensified efforts to improve road safety and sustain the anti-drug campaign. Advance baking skills training provides new opportunities for PDLs in MisOcc

Oaminal through the Misamis Occidental Provincial Reformatory Jail (MOPRJ) led by Mr. Stephen Sean M. Daral in collaboration with OAIS-TESDA under Engr. Lee M. Catane, organized an Advance Baking Skills training program. Focused on torta, cake, and pastries making, this initiative forms a crucial part of the 5-Point Reformation Program of MOPRJ.
